Treatments

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT identifies maladaptive thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors that are holding clients back from living the lives they wish for themselves. Through a process of awareness and challenging unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, clients regain control of their feelings and beliefs.

Exposure and Response Prevention

ERP challenges clients to approach their fears that are usually avoided or endured with high levels of distress in a safe and controlled environment. ERP is an incredibly effective treatment for OCD, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and Panic Disorder.

Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Skills include tolerating distressing feelings, situations, and people, assertiveness, and emotion regulation skills.

“Do the thing you fear the most, and it will be the certain death of it.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dr. Kohnle focuses on identifying what anxiety is trying to communicate to you and taking action to approach that which you have been avoiding. Treatment for anxiety allows you to experience intrusive anxious thoughts and reach a place of acceptance rather than remaining in a place of fear and frustration. This will allow you to continue or resume engaging in relationships and activities that add meaning and value to your life.

Anxiety does not prevent bad things from happening in the future, it simply robs us of the enjoyment of the present moment.
